My mother is from Finland, and when I used to go there as a child I would often see his paintings in the art galleries, and they became part of the imagery which I carry through my life. I think he should be better known, as it's usually only Finns or those with a real passion for European art who know about him.

In London he has become a little more famous as his "Lake Keitele" painting has been a big hit in the National Gallery since they acquired it a few years ago. I'd love to get over to Paris for the exhibition but I doubt it will happen this time...Clarissa Aykroydhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08571136118573329263noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-607719101484462692.post-10018789946339642812012-03-27T08:16:26.851+01:002012-03-27T08:16:26.851+01:00Clarissa, Thank you for sharing your thoughts and ...Clarissa, Thank you for sharing your thoughts and likes with us on this blog.

I adore the creations of Akseli Gallen-Kallel who is being honoured currently with an exhibition here in Paris's L'Orangerie museum.Marilyn Z.Tomlinshttp://www.marilynztomlins.comnoreply@blogger.com
